Mesopolystoechus apicalis (lat.) Is a fossil species of small net-winged insects of the genus Mesopolystoechus from the family Polystoechotidae . Found in the Jurassic deposits of Tajikistan (Sulyukta Formation, about 185 Ma, Plinsbach layer ). Wing length 27 mm. The species Mesopolystoechus apicalis was first described in 1937 by the Soviet paleoentomologist Andrei Vasilyevich Martynov (1879–1938; PIN RAS , Moscow , USSR ) together with the taxa Aboilus cellulosus , Archaboilus kisylkiensis , Choristopsychepis erycophecyndiopisopsis incisifisperms species. The taxon of Mesopolystoechus apicalis is close to the species Mesopolystoechus wangyingziensis [1] [2] .
