Biography
In 1978 he graduated from the Department of Agricultural Mechanization of the Dnipropetrovsk Agricultural Institute. He worked as a senior researcher at the Department of Agricultural Machines of Alma Mater . Since 1980 - Senior Researcher at the Research Institute of the Non-Black Earth Zone of Ukraine in Korosten . In 1983-1986 - graduate student of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Sugar Beet and Sugar (VNIISS) ( Kiev ).
Since 1986 - candidate of technical sciences, the topic of the dissertation "Justification of the working process and the parameters of the combined digging device of the machine for harvesting fodder beets." In the same year, the scientist was awarded the title "Best Young Inventor of Ukraine", was appointed head of the laboratory of the Research Institute of Non-Chernozem Zone of Ukraine.
Since 1990, he has been working at the Dnepropetrovsk State Agrarian University as an assistant professor of the Department of Agricultural Machines, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization, since 2001 - the first Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, since 2007 - the Rector of the Dnipropetrovsk State Agrarian University.
Scientific activity
A. S. Kobets is a specialist in the field of mechanization of root crop cultivation, development and use of polymeric materials.
Under the scientific guidance of Professor A. S. Kobets, a scientific school “Development and research of working bodies for tillage and harvesting root crops in difficult conditions” was created, which fruitfully works on improving existing and creating new working bodies of agricultural machines and their rational use. Based on the results of analytical studies, a theory of the interaction of elastic working bodies with root crops is created; theory of the process of directed wear of tillage working bodies equipped with elements of local hardening; theoretical justification of the process of digging root crops.
A. S. Kobets is the author of more than 480 scientific papers devoted to pressing theoretical and scientific-practical issues of agricultural mechanization. Among them are the monographs “Sustainable development of complex dynamic systems” and “Theory and calculation of diggers for harvesting potatoes”, more than 20 patents for inventions, as well as “Workshop on the use of machines in crop production”, “Laboratory workshop on the use of machines in crop production”, “Course design with machine use in crop production. " He published a textbook "Fundamentals of the theory of working bodies of agricultural machinery."
Received about 200 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.
Under his leadership, protected three candidate dissertations. He is the chief editor of the scientific-theoretical and scientific-practical journal "Bulletin of the Dnepropetrovsk State Agrarian University."
