Ground beetle Mikhailova ( Latin Carabus (Morphocarabus) michailovi ) is a species of ground beetles from the subfamily of ground beetles . The specific name was given in honor of Kirill Glebovich Mikhailov , a prominent specialist in the systematics and faunistics of spiders , a senior researcher at the Zoo Museum of Moscow State University . A little-studied rare species, known only in a few specimens. The species was first described in 1992.

DescriptionProbably endemic to Southern Altai . Distributed in the highlands of the Sarym-Sakty ridge in Southern Altai. It is found at altitudes of 2600-2900 m above sea level . Beetles and larvae of the third age are found in the first ten days of August. Probably, the species gives two generations per year - at the beginning and at the end of summer.
SecurityThe reason for the reduction in numbers is overgrazing in habitats. It is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan .
