Biography
Alexey Pleshakov was born on August 17, 1914 in the village of Shchelkovo (now a city in the Moscow region ). Since 1926 he lived in Bogorodsk ( Noginsk ). After graduating from junior high school he worked as a locksmith in a factory. In 1936 - 1938 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Demobilized, he again worked as a locksmith. In parallel with work, he was engaged in a flying club. In 1940, Pleshakov was re-drafted into the army. In the same year, he graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation Pilot School. Since December 1941 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By April 1945, Major Alexei Pleshakov commanded the squadron of the 703rd assault air regiment of the 281st assault air division of the 13th air army of the Leningrad Front . By that time, he had made 110 sorties to attack accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, his important objects, inflicting heavy losses on him. He also took part in 18 air battles, shooting down 1 enemy aircraft, and destroyed 3 more aircraft on the ground during the attack [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, Major Alexei Pleshakov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal for "exemplary performance of command missions of the command on the front of the fight against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism" " Under the number 8982 [1] .
After the war, Pleshakov continued his service in the Soviet Army. In 1961, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived and worked in Noginsk. He died on June 18, 1988, was buried at the memorial site of the Glukhovsky cemetery of Noginsk [1] .
He was also awarded two orders of the Red Banner , the Order of Alexander Nevsky , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, two orders of the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Pleshakov, a school in Noginsk was named [1] .
