Biography
Vladimir Pismenny was born on June 12, 1904 in Sevastopol . Received a secondary technical education. In 1939, Written was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In the same year he graduated from the infantry school. He participated in the battles of the Soviet-Finnish war, being the commander of the battalion of the 588th Infantry Regiment of the 90th Infantry Division of the 13th Army of the North-Western Front [1] .
On February 13, 1940, near the village of Merka, the Pismenny battalion went to the Finnish rear and attacked the enemy, thereby contributing to the success of the offensive of the main forces. In that battle, Written died [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 7, 1940, for the "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the fight against the Finnish White Guard and courage and heroism shown at the same time", senior lieutenant Vladimir Pismenny was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also posthumously awarded the Order of Lenin [1] .
