Ivan Franić ( Croatian Ivan Franjić ; born September 10, 1987 , Melbourne , Australia ) is an Australian footballer of Croatian descent, right back of the Perth Glory club and the Australian national team .

Content

Club career

Franic started his career at the St. Albans Saints . Having played the season, he moved to the Melbourne Knights . As part of the new team, he was transferred to the position of a winger. In 2009, Ivan briefly played for the Oakley Cannons . In the summer of that year, Franic moved to Brisbane Roar . On September 12, in his match against Newcastle United Jets , he made his debut for a new team. [3] On October 20, 2010, in a duel against the Central Coast Mariners , Ivan scored his first goal for the Roar [4] . In 2011, Franic helped the club win the A-League . In 2012 and 2014, he twice became the champion of Australia.

In August 2014, Ivan, after an injury at the 2014 World Cup , moved to the Russian club Torpedo ( Moscow ) for 200 thousand euros [5] . On October 25, in a match against Kuban , Franich made his debut in the Premier League [6] . On April 28, 2015, he terminated the contract with Torpedo due to regular non-compliance with the terms of the contract [7] .

In November, Ivan signed a contract with Melbourne City . On November 20, in a match against his former Brisbane Roar club, he made his debut for a new club [8] . On January 6, Franich scored his first goal for Melbourne City in a duel against Western Sydney Wanderers [9] . In the summer of 2017, Ivan moved to the South Korean Daegu. July 23, in a match against Gangwon-do, he made his debut in the championship of South Korea [10] .

In the same year, Franic returned to Brisbane Roar, signing a contract for a year [11] . In the summer of 2018, Ivan, as a free agent, signed an agreement with Perth Glory .

International Career

On July 20, 2013, at the 2013 East Asian Championship against the South Korean national team, Franich made his debut for the Australian national team [12] . Franic participated in one match of the Australian national team at the 2014 World Cup - against Chile (1: 3), in which he assisted Tim Cahill and was injured, because of which he could not continue to play in the tournament.

In early 2015, Ivan fell into the application of the national team to participate in the home Asian Cup . At the tournament, he played in matches against the national teams of Kuwait [13] , Oman [14] , the UAE [15] , China [16] and twice South Korea [17] [18] . Following the results of the competition, Franich won a gold medal.
