Clark County is located in the United States , Ohio . As of 2010 , the population was 138,333 people. It was founded on March 1 , 1818 , got its name in honor of the American General George Rogers Clark .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 1,043 km², of which 1,036 km² is land and 44 km² or 1.25% are water bodies.

According to the 2000 census [1] , the district has 144,742 residents comprising 56,648 households and 39,370 families . The population density is 140 people per km ². There are 61 056 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of 59 buildings per km ². Racial composition of the population: white - 88.12%, African - Americans - 8.95%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.28%, Asians - 0.53%, Hawaiians - 0.02%, representatives of other races - 0.53 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.58%. Hispanics accounted for 1.17% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 31.40% are children under the age of 18, 52.60% of households are married couples living together, 12.80% of households are single women without a spouse, and 30.50% of households households are not related to families , 26.00% of households consist of one person, 11.10% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.49 people and the average family size is 2.97 people.
The age composition of the district: 25.10% under the age of 18, 9.10% from 18 to 24, 26.80% from 25 to 44, 24.30% from 45 to 64, and 14.70% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 92.50 males . For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.60 males .
