Biography
Timofey Pinchuk was born on February 21, 1919 in the village of Kopti (now the Kozelets district of the Chernihiv region of Ukraine ). He graduated from three courses of the pharmaceutical institute. In 1939, Pinchuk was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He graduated from the military automobile school. Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts [1] .
By March 1945, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Timofey Pinchuk was deputy commander of the 23rd Guards Tank Regiment, (4th Guards Mechanized Brigade, 2nd Guards Mechanized Corps , 6th Guards Tank Army , 2nd Ukrainian Front ). He distinguished himself during the liberation of Hungary and Czechoslovakia . On March 19, 1945, Pinchuk was among the first to enter the Hungarian city of Tata and took an active part in the battles for his release. On April 25, 1945, he died in a battle near the city of Brno . He was buried in an area in the Czech village of Klobuka [1] .
Rewards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946 for “courage and heroism shown in the battles on the Danube River and on the outskirts of the city of Brno,” the Guard Lieutenant Colonel Timofey Pinchuk was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Orders of Lenin and World War 1 degree, a number of medals [1] .
Memory
A school was named after Pinchuk and an obelisk was installed in his native village [1] .
