Dehhahan [1] ( pers. خواهان ) is a city in northeastern Afghanistan , in the province of Badakhshan . The administrative center of the district is Hwahan . Located on the Pyanj River , on the border with Tajikistan , in a fertile valley, at an altitude of 1040 m above sea level.
