About the album
The album was even more successful than the previous one ( La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1 ). Drummer Ivan de Prüm left the band during a tour in support of La Sexorcisto to start his own business. He was replaced by John Tempest , known for his work with Exodus and Testament . According to guitarist Jay, 72 tracks, 48 analog and 24 digital were recorded. The material for the album was prepared for three months, another three months were left for recording. For recording, the group received a larger budget compared to previous works and more time for work.
Music and Lyrics
The album turned out to be heavier compared to the previous album, having more industrial metal than groove. The group also reduced the sound of the guitar and bass, making the sound darker.
Almost all of the lyrics also became darker and more exciting than on previous albums. The theme of the texts has traditionally been murders, the dead, blasphemy, Satanism and similar things.
Also, like on all albums, fragments of dialogues from horror films and cult paintings , such as “ The Omega Man ”, “ Shaft ”, “ The Phantom of the House on the Hill ”, “ The Daughter of Satan ”, “ The Curse of Frankenstein ” and others were included in the songs. . The title of the lead song on More Human Than Human is the motto of Tyrell Corporation from the movie Blade Runner , as well as the line “I am the nexus one, I want more life, fucker”.
Rob Zombie said that he liked this album more than the previous one: “I was not completely satisfied with La Sexorcisto. In a way, this is perhaps the best we could do, given the circumstances; and this album sounds like we wanted. ”
