The 91st Infantry Division of the 1st formation ( 91th regiment ) is a military unit of the USSR Armed Forces that took part in the Soviet-Finnish and World War II.

History
Formed in 1939 as the 91st Motor Rifle Division. She took part in the Soviet-Finnish war. In April 1940 it was reorganized into the 91st Infantry Division. She took part in the Great Patriotic War. In the period from June 30 to July 12, 1941 made a march by rail to the Western Front.
On July 22, 1941, the commander-in-chief of the Western troops, Tymoshenko signed order No. 0080 on the organization of the Kalinin group consisting of 166, 91 and 89 sd [1] .
In August-September 1941, the division took part in the Dukhovshchinsky operation , as part of the 19th Army
In October 1941, it was virtually destroyed surrounded by Vyazma .
It was officially disbanded on December 27, 1941.
