At the beginning of the 20th century, the Old Believers in the upper Bikin River founded the village of Ulunga . In 1972, after an armed conflict over the island of Damansky, the village was renamed . From 2002 to 2011, the village was called Okhotnichye [3] .

Geography
The village of Okhotnichy stands on the left bank of the Svetlovodnaya River (until 1972, Ulunga , the left tributary of the Bikin River), about 3 km to its mouth.
There is no good road to the village of Okhotnichy. In summer, communication with the village of Krasny Yar on the Bikin River in motor boats , in winter - on ice on a snowmobile . The distance to Krasniy Yar in a straight line is about 120 km, along the river - about 200 km.
In the cold season, there is a winter road leading to the Vostok - Glubinnoye highway and to the village of Molodezhnoye of the Krasnoarmeysky district . Winter road is available for cross-country vehicles .

In Soviet times, flights were carried out on An-2 aircraft; there is a runway .
