Biography

In 1966 he graduated from high school. In 1968-1973 he studied at the State Pedagogical Institute named after Nikolai Baratashvili at the Department of History and Philology, which he graduated with honors.

In 1973-1974 he was a teacher of the Georgian language and history.

In 1974 he entered the Mtskheta Theological Seminary , which he graduated in 1977.

On April 2, 1977, he was tonsured a monk with the name Thaddeus . On April 7, 1977, he was ordained deacon . On May 1, 1977, he was ordained a priest on June 1 of the same year and was appointed clergyman of the Cathedral of Alavedra.

On August 2, 1977, he was ordained bishop of Bodbe .

December 24, 1978 appointed bishop of Tsilkansky .

From September 20, 1979 to October 1, 1980, he was rector of the Mtskheta Theological Seminary .

In 1979-1983 he was the archbishop of Mangliysk.

In 1986 he was appointed Archbishop of Agarak-Tsalsky [1] .

Since December 25, 1992 - Archbishop of Tsager and Lechkhum-Svaneti .

Since April 4, 1995 - Archbishop of Bolnisi and Dmanisi .

On August 18, 2003, in connection with the creation of an independent Dmanisi diocese [2], the title was changed to Bolnisi.

June 27, 2005 was followed by his transfer to the Pshav-Khevsuret diocese, which was then transformed into the Tianet and Pshav-Khevsuret diocese [3] .

On August 2, 2010, he was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan .

On October 11, 2013, according to his request, he was released from the administration of the diocese and was appointed a member of the liturgical commission of the Georgian Patriarchate as the titular metropolitan of Marabdinsky [4] .

He died on January 19, 2015 after a long illness [5] [6] . The body of the late hierarch was placed for funeral in Zioni [7] .
