Torrey, Joe

Joseph Paul "Joe" Torrey ( born July 18, 1940) is an American professional baseball player , manager and baseball functionary. Torrey played as a catcher , first and third base player for the Milwaukee / Atlanta Braves , New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals clubs. In 1971, after he knocked out 240 hits in a season, scored 137 RBI and showed an average realization of bit rates of 29.7%, Torrey was named the most valuable player in the National League .
