Biography
Born on April 15, 1922 in the village of Kalita, now in the Brovarsky district of the Kiev region, in a peasant family. Russian. Nonpartisan He graduated from four classes. He worked as a tractor driver.
In 1941 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . He was trained in the armored regiment. He fought on the Baltic front.
On July 27, 1944, the units of the 9th Guards Mechanized Brigade as part of other formations of our troops liberated the Lithuanian city of Siauliai. The commander of the reconnaissance company set the task for the commanders of the armored vehicles: immediately get off on the Šiauliai-Jelgava highway, wedge in the enemy's rear and clear the way for advancing the main forces of the brigade, prevent the fascists from occupying the prepared lines. The armored vehicle of the sergeant I. A. Samodeyev was moving in the head of the column. The comrades dragged the broken armored car out of the cab and sent it to the medical battalion. That night, the reconnaissance company advanced more than 80 kilometers, clearing the way for the brigade. The crew of the armored car, which led I. And. Samodeev, honorably executed the command order.
