Biography
Born on September 20, 1912 in the village of Vysokoye, now in the Efremovsky District, Tula Region, in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1951. Primary education. He worked on a collective farm.
In the Red Army in 1934-1936 and since 1941. At the front in World War II from June 1941. The shooter of the 78th Guards Rifle Regiment of the Guard, Red Army soldier Sergei Chizhov, on the night of September 26, 1943, as part of an assault detachment, crossed the Dnieper River in the vicinity of the village of Voiskovoye, Solonyansky District, Dnipropetrovsk Region of Ukraine . In 1944, Senior Sergeant S. M. Chizhov was discharged for disability. He returned to his homeland, worked as chairman of the collective farm. Since 1947 he lived in the city of Tula. He worked at the Stamp factory. He died on February 7, 1977. He was buried at the Smolensk cemetery in Tula .
He was awarded the Orders of Lenin , the Red Banner , and medals.
A plaque was installed on the house at 161 Kirova Street in Tula, where Chizhov lived.
