Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Japan's Keio University. In the years 1917-1945. - An English teacher in high school. In 1945 he became a professor at the University of Korea.
- 1949-1951 - Ambassador to Japan and the Philippines,
- 1951-1955 - Foreign Secretary. In this post he participated in the work of the 7th UN General Assembly, which established the Northern demarcation line . October 1, 1953 in Washington signed a treaty with the United States on mutual defense. He led the delegation of his country at the Geneva meeting on May 22, 1954 on the unification of Korea,
- June-November 1954 - Prime Minister of South Korea.
After the fall of the First Republic, he was in opposition to the ruling regime. In 1962, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Korea in the field of literature.
