Biography
Will McBride grew up in Chicago . He studied at the University of Vermont , then at the Chicago Institute of the Arts . He received his diploma at Syracuse University in 1953 , after which he served in Germany until 1955 . In 1956, McBride settled in Berlin as an independent photographer. He made photo stories for such publications as Life , Stern , Quick and twen [1] . In the 60s, he became a fairly significant photo historian covering the political and social life of Germany at that time. But his interests were not limited to one coverage of events. He was also interested in touching the intimate side of human life. As a photographer, he formed in Germany, where he lived until the end of his life. Many of his works focus mainly on teenagers' nudity, which is why they were censored in some countries, especially after the publication of his book “Show Me!” ( German Zeig Mal! ) On sexuality in 1975 . In 1980, McBride returned to Germany and resumed painting and sculpture [1] .
