Biography
Arutik Rubenyan was born on July 5, 1966 in Tselinograd . In 1969, he moved with his family to Leninakan , where at the age of 9 he began to engage in Greco-Roman wrestling under the leadership of Aram Sargsyan . In 1984 he was the European champion among youths, and in 1985 - the world champion among juniors. In 1988, he won the USSR Championship among adults , after which he entered the USSR national team. In its composition became the bronze medalist of the European Championship (1988) and the owner of the World Cup (1990).
In 1992 he moved to Greece, and later played for this country under the name Aristidis Rubenian. In 1994, he won the silver medal of the European Championship , in 1996 he participated in the Olympic Games in Atlanta , in 1997 he was a bronze medalist of the Mediterranean Games .
Since 2000, engaged in coaching. In 2000-2009 (with a short break) he was one of the coaches of the Greek national team, prepared the prize-winner of the European Championship and Olympic Games Artyom Kuregyan . Since February 2012, he has been working as a trainer in the wrestling club “Macedones Evosmos” from Thessaloniki .
