Maria Duñas Vinuesa ( Spanish: María Dueñas Vinuesa ; born 1964 , Puertollano ) is a Spanish writer. A teacher of English and literature at the University of Murcia , she also taught at several North American universities, and participated in several educational, cultural, and publishing projects. In 2009, she published her first novel, the espionage saga " Threads of Fate " ( Spanish: El tiempo entre costuras ), which soon became a bestseller in Spain and was translated into more than two dozen languages ​​of the world. For this novel, Duenhas was awarded several literary prizes, including the Cartagena Prize for the historical novel. In 2013, the novel was filmed on television by Antena 3 . In 2012, Duenhas published her second novel, The Mission “Oblivion” ( Spanish: Misión Olvido ), which also received critical acclaim.
