Biography
Alexey Yakimovich was born on January 15, 1857; came from the nobles of the Tula province , who had roots from the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks ; the son of a general from infantry , the head of the Chancellery of the Ministry of War and a member of the Military Council of the Russian Empire Alexander Alekseevich Yakimovich (1829-1903) [1] [3] .
August 16, 1873 followed in the footsteps of his father and entered the military service of the sovereign in the Russian Imperial Army, and three years later he received an officer rank. He graduated from the Pavlovsk Military School , Mikhailovsky Artillery School and Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy [4] .
He took part in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 .
From August 24, 1881 to June 4, 1886 he held the position of junior receiver at the Main Artillery Directorate.
In 1903, A. A. Yakimovich was awarded the military rank of Major General .

December 6, 1919 A. A. Yakimovich was awarded the next military rank of lieutenant general .
Alexey Alexandrovich Yakimovich died shortly after the October Revolution ; the turmoil that followed him has not yet made it possible to determine precisely the place and time of his death. A number of sources name the date 1919 [1] , but it should be considered approximate due to the lack of more authoritative documents.
In addition, A. Yakimovich took an active part in the creation of the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary , where he owns many articles related to artillery and military science in general.
