La Révolution Surréaliste ( Surrealist Revolution ) is a French literary magazine founded in 1924 by a group of surrealists. The ideological leader of both the movement and the magazine was Andre Breton . The directors of the magazine from number to number were Pierre Naville and Benjamin Pere or Andre Breton. For five years, the magazine served as a vehicle for disseminating the ideas of surrealism regarding literature, visual arts, and politics. The last issue was released in December 1929 . The following year, a new magazine, Surrealism in the Service of the Revolution , was founded.

Creation History
The creation of the magazine is associated with the official organization of a group of surrealists following the publication of the first Manifesto of Surrealism . On October 11, 1924, the Bureau of Surrealistic Research was opened in Paris - "A center open to all who are interested in manifestations of thought, free from any intellectual task [1] ." The bureau and the editorial staff of the magazine were located in the shop of Father Pierre Naville.
