“Mountain karst of Crimea” ( Ukrainian “Girsky karst Krimu” , Crimean-Tat. “Qırımnıñ dağ karstı”, “Kırymynyn dag karst” ) is a geological reserve of national importance located in the Crimean mountains in the territory of Belogorsky district , urban districts (city councils) Alushta and Sudak ( Crimea ); Crimea's 4th largest nature reserve (after the Small Philophore Field, Baidarsky, Karkinitsky reserves; the 3rd in the Republic of Crimea). Area - 4 316 hectares. Land user - Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea, State Autonomous Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Belogorsk Forestry”.

History
The reserve was founded on February 13, 1989 by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR of February 13, 89 No. 53 “On the creation of reserves, a botanical garden and a dendrological park of national importance”.
It is a state nature reserve of regional importance , according to the Order of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea dated 05.02.2015 No. 69-r “On approval of the List of specially protected natural territories of regional significance of the Republic of Crimea”.
Description
The reserve was created with the aim of preserving, renewing and rational use of typical and unique natural complexes: landscape complexes of Karabi-yayly. Any activity is prohibited or restricted on the territory of the reserve if it contradicts the goals of its creation or causes harm to natural complexes and their components.
It is located in the Crimean mountains on the mountain plateau of Karabi-yayla , in its southern part, on the territory of the Novoklenovsky and Priestnoye forestries. In the north, it borders on the natural reserve Karabi-Yayla . On the territory of the reserve is a natural monument Karst mine Soldatskaya , an area of 10 hectares.
The nearest settlement is Generalskoye , cities: Alushta and Belogorsk .
Nature
The Karabi-Yaila Plateau is part of the Main Ridge of the Crimean Mountains , included in the reserve. The plateau is dotted with various forms of surface karst: funnels of various sizes and shapes, piles of stone blocks and elongated low ridges, ponora , carr , 261 underground voids and caves, natural mines with stalactites and stalagmites . Soldatskaya caves (515 m) and Nakhimovskaya (400 m) are the deepest caves of Crimea. The surface of the plateau is without forests and is represented by meadow-steppe vegetation.
