Lincoln County is located in the United States , North Carolina . As of 2010 , the population was 78,265. It was officially formed in 1779 , got its name by the name of General Benjamin Lincoln, a participant in the war for independence.

According to the 2010 census [1] , 78,265 residents of 30,343 households and 22,221 families live in the okrug. The population density is 101 people per km². There are 33 641 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of 43.46 buildings per km². Racial composition of the population: white - 89.4%, African Americans - 5.5%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.3%, Asians - 0.5%, Hawaiians - 0.02%, representatives of other races - 2.7 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.6%. Hispanics accounted for 6.7% of the population.
Of the total number of households , 34.6% are children under the age of 18 years, 57.2% of households are married couples living together, 11.1% of households are single women without a spouse, and 26.80% of households households are not related to families , 22.3% of households consist of one person, 8.4% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.56 people and the average family size is 2.97 people.
The age structure of the district: 23.6% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 29.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 40.4 years. For every 100 females there are 98.4 males . For every 100 females over 18 years of age, 95.8 are males .
