Biography
From childhood he studied piano, violin and trumpet. Already being an officer, I became interested in playing the harp; took lessons from harperist AM Insprucker . Received a military education. Guards Cavalry Reserve Headquarters-captain of the Life Guards Grodno Hussars . In 1902 he retired and went to Berlin , where he studied at the Conservatory with William Posse . He successfully performed in Germany and England .
In 1908, having sustained the competition, he became a soloist with the Bolshoi Theater orchestra. From the same year professor of the Moscow Conservatory . Actively engaged in teaching, gave solo concerts. The game of Slepushkin was distinguished by exceptional virtuosity, beautiful singing sound. The repertoire included sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven , etudes and waltzes by Frederic Chopin , Prelude and Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach , "The Lark" by Mikhail Glinka - Mily Balakirev , the works of Franz Liszt and others arranged for harp and of original compositions for harp - works of Elias Parish -Alvarsa .
