Argopelter
Argopelter ( Eng. Argopelter ) - a mythical animal, according to legend, inhabiting the hollow trees of coniferous forests from Maine to Oregon . Sitting in a tree trunk, the creature seems to be waiting for a careless person and throws wood chips and branches at an intruder. Some described the creature so fast that it was impossible to notice. According to other descriptions, argopelter is a creature with a βthin body, a villainous monkey face and strong arms with which he can snatch dead branches and throw them into the air like shells from a six-inch gun." His cubs are always born on February 29 and always in an odd amount.
