Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Kushka River. [one]
History
According to the Lists of the populated areas of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 1st camp of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . There were 15 yards in it , 50 men and 72 women lived. [one]
According to the 1897 census , 188 people lived in the village of Matveyevskoye (75 men and 108 women). [2]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village of Matveyevskoye, located 25 versts from the county town, belonged to the Ascension Parish of the Galich Uyezd of the Kostroma Province . According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 24 peasant households and 163 inhabitants. The main occupations of the villagers, in addition to agriculture, were carpentry and agricultural work. [2] [comm. one]
Before the municipal reform of 2010, the village was part of the Unorozhsky rural settlement. [3] [4]
