Biography
Born on March 3, 1918 in the village of Ilyinka (now - Kalacheevsky district, Voronezh region ) in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1939. He graduated from the pedagogical school. He worked as head of the Podgoryan elementary school in the Kalacheevsky district.
In the Red Army since 1939. In 1940 he graduated from the Kharkov Military Aviation School for navigators.
Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. He fought on the South-West, Stalingrad, Donskoy, Central and 1st Belorussian fronts.
Captain Alexei Tsaregorodsky, navigator of the squadron of the 96th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Guard, flew 176 combat sorties for reconnaissance and bombardment of fortifications, airfields and enemy troops by March 1945.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 15, 1946, for exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command at the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard to Captain Alexey Andrianovich Tsaregorodsky, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal " .
