Abyani ( Persian ابیانه , literally. “Red Settlement”) is a village in central Iran , near the city of Kashan . Famous cultural, ethnographic and tourist center.

History
Abyani is considered one of the oldest settlements in Iran and has existed for at least 2,000 years. Local residents for a long time professed Zoroastrianism . Only in the interval between the 16th and 18th centuries did they convert to Islam .
In 1975, the village was included in the list of Iranian national heritage as a cultural object, in 2007 - in the preliminary list of UNESCO World Heritage .
Legacy
In the village of Abyani, the traditional style of rural buildings of central Iran is preserved. Here are the ruins of a medieval military fortification, as well as a mosque. Locals continue the tradition of hand weaving. Women dress in traditional costumes. Tours are provided for tourists. There is a production of souvenir craft products.
Since 2005, the village has been conducting international archaeological research.
