Biography
Ivan Patrushev was born on January 11, 1918 in the village of Bolshoi Patrushi (now the Kotelnichsky District of the Kirov Region ). Russian [2] . After finishing seven classes of the school, he worked first on a collective farm , then in a machine and tractor station.
In the army
In September 1938, Patrushev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1941, he graduated from junior lieutenant courses. Since December 1943 - on the fronts of World War II [2] .
By April 1945, Lieutenant Ivan Patrushev commanded the SU-76 battery of the 1402nd self-propelled artillery regiment of the 43rd Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front .
Feat
He distinguished himself during the assault on Koenigsberg . On April 6, 1945, Patrushev’s battery came close to the besieged Königsberg forts and destroyed about 9 artillery pieces and more than 60 enemy soldiers and officers. On April 7, 1945, Patrushev and his comrades were among the first to enter Koenigsberg, repelling the German counterattack. In that battle, Patrushev was injured, but continued to fight. On April 6–9 , 1945, Patrushev’s battery destroyed a total of 54 artillery and 2 anti-aircraft guns, 33 firing points, and about 250 enemy soldiers and officers [2] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for “exemplary fulfillment of command assignments and shown courage and heroism in battles with the German invaders,” Lieutenant Ivan Patrushev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 7273 [2] .
In his book “Invincible and Legendary,” Army General A. P. Beloborodov wrote:
Patrushev, with his battery, was the first to break into the outskirts of Koenigsberg. When “the enemy launched a counterattack, the battery commander and his soldiers repelled the onslaught of the Nazis. Lieutenant Patrushev was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield and continued to command the battery. When the enemies knocked out his fighting vehicle, the lieutenant with a machine gun in his hands beat off the Nazi counterattacks. Warriors inflicted great damage to the enemy. They shot down 54 guns, 2 anti-aircraft guns, suppressed 33 firing points and captured 1,200 Hitler soldiers and officers. ”

After the war he continued to serve in the Soviet Army in the Group of Soviet Occupation Forces in Germany , in parts of the Baltic Military District.
After the army
In 1968, with the rank of Colonel Patrushev, he was sacked. He lived in the city of Gorno-Altaysk , now - the administrative center of the Altai Republic. He worked as deputy chief of staff of the civil defense of the city. In 1984 he moved to the city of Lipetsk . He died on October 22, 1989 [2] .
