Biography
Born in 1952 in the Cossack village of Cool, Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR. Father: Alexey Lapin, chauffeur. Mother: Maria Lapina Trofimovna, milkmaid [1] . In 1969, after graduating from the Yantarnensk secondary school of the Prokhladnensky district, he studied at the technical school No. 41 of the city of Alma-Ata. After serving in the Soviet Army (1970-1972), he worked as a construction worker at the Alma-Ata house-building factory.
In 1973 he entered and in 1978 graduated with honors from the faculty of journalism of the Kazakh State University. He worked in the magazine “Automobile Transport of Kazakhstan” as a correspondent, executive secretary, deputy chief editor, and then chief editor of this publication.
In 1986, he joined the Komsomolskaya Pravda as a correspondent for Kazakhstan. For 15 years he has gone from a journalist to a deputy general director of a newspaper. Under his leadership, a regional network of Komsomolskaya Pravda was created.
In 2000 he moved to Voronezh, created his own newspaper business, which he headed as chief editor and CEO until 2010. The publishing house of Alexander Lapin "EURASIA-PRESS - XXI CENTURY", which includes more than 20 publications, printing houses, distribution network, operates in 8 major cities of Central Russia.
For 10 years, Alexander Lapin is the author and host of the weekly television program “Russian Question” on regional television.
Currently lives in the village of Sennoe, Voronezh Region [2] , is engaged in literary activities. The novel “The Russian Cross” [3] , the “saga of a generation”, is most widely known to the writer, about those whose youth coincided with the serene period of developed socialism , and who in the 90s received the brunt that demanded the choice of a path, redrawing the worldview creating a new picture of the world. The novel is full of dramatic collisions. The author explores the characters that formed this era, and creates several diverse storylines, where the vital principles of the main characters of the saga are subjected to serious trials under the influence of epochal changes in society. An intimate diary covering a large-scale period of the end of the 20th - beginning of the 21st century reveals the vicissitudes and turns of human destinies in the context of the accomplished historical events [4] .
