Geography
The village is located in the south-east of the Palekh region, 18 km south-east of Palekh (25.5 km along the roads), near the village of Sakulino .
History
Before the revolution, the village of Pomogalovo was located in the Vyaznikovsky district , 65 versts from the county town . Information about the date of construction of the first church has not been preserved. In the center of the village in 1817, the Church of the Intercession was built with three borders - in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos , in honor of the Smolensk Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker . At the end of the 19th century there was a local people's school. The parish consisted of the village of Pomogalov and the villages: Lodygina , Kochkina , Bolshoy Uglets, Maly Uglets , Novaya, Zykov, Yurilov with a total population of 715 people. In Soviet times, the temple was closed. Fragments of painting from the end of the 19th century in the spirit of late academicism were preserved on the walls and in the vault.
