Biography
Ivan Papyshev was born on March 10, 1915 in the village of Chinyanino, Samokhvalovskaya volost, Tarsk district, Tobolsk province [1] . After finishing seven classes of the school, he worked first on a collective farm , then on a mine. In 1936 - 1938 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Demobilized, he served in the organs of the NKVD of the USSR .
In 1941, Papyshev was re-drafted into the army. Since August 1942 - on the fronts of World War II [2] .
By January 1945, the foreman, Ivan Papyshev, commanded a reconnaissance platoon of the 60th Guards Cavalry Regiment of the 16th Guards Cavalry Division of the 7th Guards Cavalry Corps of the 69th Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . Distinguished during the liberation of Poland . January 17 - 18, 1945 Papyshev conducted reconnaissance during the battles for the liberation of Tomashuv , having obtained intelligence important for the command. During the crossing of the Warta River, a Papyshev platoon defeated enemy mortar positions, destroyed 9 mortar calculations. Having fought from the Vistula to the Oder, Papyshev’s platoon captured more than 20 warehouses with the enemy’s military equipment, capturing 76 enemy soldiers and officers [2] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 27, 1945, for the "exemplary performance of the command’s combat mission in the fight against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown by the guard", Sergeant Ivan Papyshev was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 5670 [2] .
He entered the ceremonial calculation, carrying the Victory Banner that arrived in Moscow from Berlin. Participated in the Victory Parade . In 1946, Papyshev was demobilized. He lived and worked in Moscow .
He died on February 2, 1999, was buried at the Kotlyakovsky cemetery in Moscow [2] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner , World War 1 and 2 degrees, the Red Star , a number of medals [2] .
