Bion-8 ( Cosmos-1887 ) is a Soviet artificial Earth satellite of the Bion series, designed for biological research. It was launched on September 29, 1987 at 12 hours 50 minutes UTC from the Plesetsk launch site by the Soyuz-U launch vehicle from launch pad No. 41/1.

Experiments
The following biological objects were located on the apparatus: two rhesus monkeys (nicknames Drema and Erosh), ten laboratory Wistar rats, guppy fish , corner teeth , tritons , Drosophila , grasshoppers , beetles, chlorella [1] [2] .
