Biography

Fyodor Zbrozhek was born in the city of Chernigov in the family of a communications engineer, graduated from the Mogilev gymnasium with a silver medal [1], and first entered Petersburg University, where he soon transferred to the Institute of Railway Engineering .

After graduating from the Institute of Railway Engineers in 1872, he entered the service in the St. Petersburg District Corps of Railway Engineers.

From 1878 to 1886 he was the head of the Tsarskoye Selo distance, then he headed the department of natural waterways in the department of highway and water communications; since 1893 - vice director of the same department in the technical department.

Since 1893, he also held the position of Assistant General A. A. Tillo in the commission for the study of the upper reaches of Russian rivers, and since 1900 he was appointed chairman of this commission.

In the years 1899-1900 - head of the department of water and highway communications. He was repeatedly sent to inspect the waterways, took part in resolving issues on the regulation of the border with Austria part of the Vistula and Dniester, the Dnieper near Kiev , the Neman at the Augustow Canal, etc.

In 1888, Zbrozhek took over the main management of the construction of the Novorossiysk port . In 1889 he was approved as a teacher of the course, and later as a professor of inland waterway communications at the Institute of Railway Engineers. Zbrozhek owns a lot of research on various issues of river hydraulics, published in the Journal of the Ministry of Communications, and the extensive Course of Inland Waterways (with an atlas of 136 tables, 2nd ed., St. Petersburg, 1898 ).

Family

Brother Vladimir G. Zbrozhek, a graduate of the Mogilev gymnasium (1871). An employee of the Irkutsk Control Chamber, an amateur singer.
