Development
In August 2012, PopCap announced the continuation of their game Plants vs. Zombies , which will include new features and situations. [1] The company later confirmed that the release of the game was scheduled for July 18, 2013. [2] On June 26, 2013, PopCap announced the postponement of the release date on its Twitter page. On July 9, 2013, the game was released for Australia and New Zealand in the App Store [3] , and became available to the whole world on August 15, 2013. [4] On September 12, 2013, PopCap announced its intention to release a game for the Android platform in the fall of 2013. [5] [6]
Gameplay
Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time, unlike its predecessor, is a free game and supports the ability to buy coins and diamonds (a special in-game currency) to use special abilities. Despite this, the game can be completed without them. In the game there are different conditions of victory at the level. If you fail to do so, you will lose. The player has the opportunity to undergo training, passing in his house, familiar from the first part of the game. It is then transported over time to Ancient Egypt , the Pirate Seas , the Wild West , the Far Future , the Dark Ages , the Great Beach Wave , the Frozen Caves , the Lost City , the eighties Neon , the Jurassic Marsh and Modern Day.
Story
Mad Dave (player's neighbor) eats up tacos . Mad Dave wants to once again eat this dish and for this goes into the past, using the time machine in the form of a caravan with artificial intelligence, called Penny. Due to the not quite correct operation of the mechanism, they end up in ancient Egypt. Circumstances are aggravated by the fact that the zombies, led by Dr. Zomboss, returned in the hope of creating another story in which zombies prevailed on Earth. The player must defeat all the zombies here, and then on the Pirate Seas and the Wild West. After completing all the tasks in the Wild West, Mad Dave and Penny will learn about the existence of another world — the Far Future (released in an update on March 27, 2014). In the future, zombies could try to take over the world, and our heroes go there. In the penultimate update, new worlds were added and the story was slightly rewritten. Also in the Chinese version were added two worlds exclusive for China - Kung Fu World and the City in the sky (in other versions these worlds are absent).
Game release
Initially it was assumed that the game will be released on iOS July 18, 2013. June 26, it was announced that the release of the game has been postponed. Such an announcement appeared on the official Twitter page. [7] The game was launched in Australia and New Zealand on July 9 to test the operation of the servers. The overall release on iOS took place on August 15, and after five days the game took a leading position in the top 137 countries. On September 12, PopCap Games released a game for the Android operating system in China and announced that the general release of the game on Google Play will take place later this fall. On October 2, the game was launched in Australian and New Zealand Google Play stores. [eight]
