Biography
Born in the city of Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1931, the family moved to Kiev, where he graduated from ten years. In 1937, the Komsomol member M. M. Smekhov entered the Kiev Technological Institute of Silicates. With the outbreak of war, the university was evacuated to the city of Volsk, where in 1942 he received a diploma in chemical engineering. Immediately he was sent to a cement plant in the city of Sukhoi Log . In 1946, Smekhov was transferred to the Giant plant in the Moscow region. In 1948, they were appointed chief engineer of the Enakievo cement plant in the Stalin region. In 1950 - the chief engineer of the Amvrosievsky Order of Lenin Cement Plant No. 1.
At the beginning of 1954 they were sent to lead the Sebryakovsky cement plant under construction in the city of Mikhailovka, Volgograd Region . Sebryakovsky cement plant has become his main business. These years are the main events - the construction and launch of new production lines, the achievement of the highest results in the country's cement industry. Mark Moiseevich Smekhov was a visionary leader and worked for the future of the plant, took an active part in the implementation of works on mechanization and full automation of the plant.
M. M. Smekhov was a member of the editorial board of the journal "Cement", on the pages of which he spoke about the best practices of Sebryakov, published about 20 articles in various publications. Mark Moiseevich did immeasurably much for the development and prosperity of Mikhailovka , in which he lived and worked. In the 60-70s, at the same time as the establishment of the plant, the city flourished. In Mikhailovka, houses were built, kindergartens, the House of Culture, a technological college, a greenhouse, a stadium, clinics, a fountain were built. Homeland praised the work of Mark Moiseevich Smekhov, he was awarded the Orders of Lenin, the October Revolution, the Red Banner of Labor, the “Badge of Honor”, the medal “For Labor Valor,” the large gold medal of the VDNKh USSR. Mark Moiseevich devoted 19 years to the formation and development of the Sebryakovsky cement plant and the city. The name of Mark Moiseevich Smekhov is borne by city park, street, school number 4. A scholarship named after M. M. Smekhov has been established for students of the Sebryakovsky technological college. He is rightly considered the best leader of the Sebryakovsky cement plant in the almost 60-year history of the enterprise.
