Creating a Corps
The 9th Mixed Aviation Corps was formed on March 15, 1943 by a decision of the State Defense Committee [1]
7. Mixed air corps No. 9 should be formed by April 1, 1943. The air corps should include: 226 assault air divisions Il-2 and 287 fighter air divisions Yak-7 , withdrawing them to the Headquarters reserve from the 8th Air Army of the Southern Front and re-forming 305 assault air division Il-2 . The formation of the air corps to conduct in the area of Millerovo. The commander of the mixed air corps number 9 to approve Colonel Tolstikov O. V.
