It is located 16 km northeast of Vavozh.
History
The village was founded by decree of the Holy Synod of March 13, 1861.

Infrastructure
The village has a secondary school, a village club and a veterinary station.
Russian Orthodox Church
The parish was isolated from Vavozhsky and Nilga-Zhikinsky. The first wooden church was built in 1861 and consecrated on December 3 in the name of St. Catherine the Great Martyr . Guardianship was founded in 1865, the church school in 1882. In 1907, parishioners decided to build a new stone church according to the project of I. A. Charushin, but the revolution began. The church was closed in 1936, and later rebuilt as an orphanage.
