TVP1 HD - Polish television channel, HD version of the First channel of Polish television . Test broadcasting began in January 2011, and on May 31, 2012 the channel was officially opened. It was on it that the first match of the European Football Championship 2012 was shown.

History
January 10, 2011 on the digital platform N called TVP1 HD, experimental broadcasting of the TVP1 channel in 1080i format began . Internal testing started on April 17, 2012 , and on May 31, 2012 at 17:00 the channel was officially opened as part of the first multiplex of terrestrial digital television [1] . On the same day regular satellite broadcasting started [2] , and on June 1, 2012 TVP1 HD appeared in cable networks [1] . On February 15, 2014, TVP1 HD was moved along with all Polish TV channels to the third multiplex, and its broadcast now only differs from TVP1 in format.

Opportunity
Satellite operators and cable networks (if there is a fiber optic network) provide up to 12 Mbps HD transmission speed (image, sound and additional parameters), however, the exact speed depends solely on them and the availability of a free channel (satellite platforms due to limited power does not provide such opportunities) [3] . Since April 28, 2014, TVP1 HD is available in the Third Terrestrial Digital Television Multiplex of Poland.
