Milton Glaser (born June 26, 1929 in New York ) is an American graphic designer , creator of New York Magazine , the author of a poster featuring Bob Dylan and the symbol of New York - the I Love New York logo.

Biography
Milton Glaser was born in New York into a Jewish family with Hungarian roots. At seventeen, he finally decided to become an artist. He entered the Manhattan School of Music and Arts, then graduated from the private New York College of Cooper Union and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna (class George Morandi ).
Upon returning to New York in 1954, together with Seymour Chvast, Reynolds Ruffins and Edward Sorel, former employees of Esquire magazine, opened the Push Pin design studio. In 1968, Glazer and Clay Felker founded the New York Magazine and until 1977 was its president and design director. One of the columns of the magazine, devoted to information about cheap restaurants in New York, seven years later grew into the book “Underground Gourmet”, written by Glaser in conjunction with Jerome Schneider. In 1974, Glaser founded the design studio Milton Glaser, Inc. in Manhattan .
In 1977, he participated in a project to develop the New York logo. Its emblem - I Love New York - has become part of American pop culture . In 1983, together with Walter Bernard Glaser, he created WBMG, a graphic design company for the press, who has developed over 50 periodicals around the world. Among the modernizations of WBMG are such publications as The Washington Post , La Vanguardia, About Globo, National Post, Alma, etc.
Since 1961, Glaser has been teaching and giving lectures at universities (for example, at the American Institute of Graphic Arts), is on the board of directors of Cooper Union College, is a member of the board of the School of Visual Arts in New York , and publishes numerous essays on design, art, and profession designer, creative process. He is the author of a graphic design tutorial.
In 2004, Glaser received an award from the National Museum of Design for his significant contribution to the development of modern design. In 2009, Barack Obama awarded him the National Medal of Arts for outstanding achievements and support for art during a ceremony at the White House [5] .
