Career

In 1964, at the Games in Tokyo, Yuri Smolyakov took 7th place in the team sword.

At the next Olympics, he won a silver medal in the team sword with Grigory Criss , Joseph Vitebsky , Alexei Nikanchikov and Victor Modzolevsky [1] .

Silver medalist of the 1966 World Cup in the team sword.

After Mexico, he remained in sports until 1972, for Yuri Timofeevich, the death of a friend Alexei Nikanchikov was a great tragedy.
