Royal College of Physicians

The Royal College of Physicians ( English Royal College of Physicians , sometimes translated as the “Royal College of Physicians”) is the British Society of Professional Physicians of General Medicine and its narrow areas. It was originally founded as a College of Physicians, received a royal charter in 1518 from King Henry VIII , and was approved by the law of parliament in 1523. An organization is sometimes called the Royal College of Physicians of London , so as not to confuse it with other organizations with similar names.

The organization was the first medical institution in England to become a Royal College, and the first Royal College in the UK and Ireland for doctors; The organization’s charter was based on the charter of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which received the Royal Charter in 1506. Since then, the College has been actively involved in improving the quality of medical practice, primarily through the accreditation of doctors.

The college has its own educational institute, conducts scientific conferences and publishes journals and books on medicine.
