Competition History
The derby of Kuban and Krasnodar is the youngest rivalry in Russia at the level of the Premier League. The short history of this confrontation is connected with the different fate of the participating clubs [2] .
Kuban was founded in 1928 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Russia. It has its history since the founding of the Dynamo team under the NKVD of Krasnodar . Throughout its history, the club has repeatedly changed its name and departmental affiliation due to the political situation in the USSR . He played in the Premier League of the USSR in 1980 - 1982 , in the Premier League / Premier League of Russia in 1992 , 2004 , 2007 , 2009 and from 2011 [3] .
Football club "Krasnodar" was founded in early 2008 by Sergei Galitsky . In the same year, the team took third place in the South zone of the Second Division and, due to the refusal of some winners and prize-winners of the tournament to participate in the First Division, received a promotion. The next two seasons ( 2009 and 2010 ), Krasnodar spent in the First Division. Performances in these seasons were very successful, the club took tenth and fifth places, respectively [4] .
In 2010, the first Krasnodar derby was held. “Kuban”, having flown out of the Premier League in the previous season, was considered a favorite before the match. The game was held on June 12 at the Kuban stadium, like all subsequent clubs rivalries. In the presence of 17500 spectators the victory with a large score of 3: 0 was won by “yellow-green” [5] . In the second round match on October 14, the Kuban won again a minimal victory (1-0) [6] . According to the results of the tournament, “Cossacks” took first place in the First Division, “bulls” - fifth. Before the start of the next season, “ Saturn ” withdrew from the championship, for financial reasons, “ Nizhny Novgorod ” and “ KamAZ ” refused to move to the Premier League, so their place went to Krasnodar. As a result, both Kuban clubs synchronously received a promotion in class [2] .
As a result, starting from the 2011-2012 season , the second city after Moscow with its top-level football derby appeared in Russia. The first Premier League match between the Krasnodar clubs was held on June 18, 2011 , all the pre-match hands were in favor of the Kuban, since before that she already had experience of playing in the Premier League and the history of the team was tens of years old, and Krasnodar that moment was only three years old and he first performed at that level. The match turned out to be tense and dramatic. At the 57th minute for a foul of the last hope, the Krasnodar player Tubich was removed and a penalty was awarded, but the Kuban striker Traore could not realize it, the ball hit the post. Later, “Kuban” had chances to squeeze an opponent, but the “bulls”, playing with ten men, were able to score a goal in 67 minutes, the author of which was midfielder Nikola Drinčić . This goal was the only one in the match and Krasnodar won, making history, as the winner of the first non-Moscow derby in the Premier League . This victory was the first for the “bulls” in the history of the derby [4] [7] . The next confrontation in the framework of a year and a half tournament took place on October 29, 2011, this time the Kuban won with a score 2: 0. The clubs finished the long 2011/12 season on adjacent lines of the standings - Kuban became the last in the first eight, Krasnodar became the best in the second, taking the overall ninth place [2] .
On October 30, 2012, a significant event took place in the history of the Krasnodar clubs rivalry, for the first time the teams met each other in the Russian Cup match. The meeting took place at the 1/8 finals. “Kuban” was stronger, winning 1-0, scored by Marcos Pizzelli . “Cossacks” reached the quarter finals, where they lost to “ Zenith ” [2] [8] .
Starting from 2012, clubs won victories in the championships of the country in turn: on August 10, 2012, Kuban won, on November 30, 2012, Krasnodar won with the same score, on November 3, 2013 again Kuban and again 2: 1, March 30 2014, the victory was celebrated by Krasnodar (3: 1). On December 4, 2015, the last “Krasnodar Derby” took place, where the “black-green” ones were stronger (3: 2). Thus, in the Premier League matches, Krasnodar has 5 wins, Kuban has 3 wins and 2 meetings between these teams ended in a draw.
