Aleksei Ivanovich Sergov ( January 6, 1914 - July 15, 1990 ) - Soviet military pilot , major general of aviation , participant in the Soviet-Finnish and World War II. Hero of the Soviet Union ( 1943 ).

Biography
Born on January 6, 1914 in Odessa in a working class family. He graduated from the 2nd course of the railway technical school and flying club, worked as a master wood modeler.
In the Red Army since 1937 . In 1938 he graduated from the Borisoglebsk Military Aviation School (now the Borisoglebsk Training Aviation Training Center named after V.P. Chkalov ). He participated in the Soviet-Finnish war .
Member of the Great Patriotic War in June 1941 , in the same year joined the CPSU (b) . From the very beginning of the war until January 1943, Sergov fought as part of the 17th Fighter Aviation Regiment, and from January 3, 1943 he was appointed navigator of the 508th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 205th Fighter Aviation Division of the 5th Fighter Aviation Corps 2- th Air Army of the Voronezh Front .
By July 1943, Major Sergov made 331 sorties, personally shot down 10 and 17 in a group of enemy aircraft (according to the award list), for which he was presented to the rank of Hero of the Soviet Union. According to a study by M. Yu. Bykov, 7 of them were shot down personally and in a group of 16 aircraft [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 28, 1943, Sergov Aleksei Ivanovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and shown courage and heroism.
On May 7, 1944 , the 508th Fighter Aviation Regiment was transformed into the 213rd Guards Oder Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky and Alexander Nevsky Fighter Aviation Regiment for military merits shown in battles. On May 9, 1944, Sergov was appointed [2] as commander of the 21st Guards Cherkasy Red Banner Fighter Aviation Regiment .
Throughout the war, Sergov made 366 sorties, participated in 72 air battles, in which he personally shot down 15 German planes and 19 in the group (12 personal and 16 group victories were confirmed) Error in footnotes ? : Invalid call: no input .
After the victory, he continued to serve in the USSR Air Force . In 1951, he graduated from the Higher Flight Tactical Improvement Courses for Officers, and in 1957, the Military Academy of the General Staff .
In 1960, Sergov went into reserve with the rank of major general. He lived in Odessa, before retiring, he worked as the head of the courses of the regional trade department.
He died on June 15, 1990 . He was buried in Odessa at the Tairovsky cemetery.
