Company History
The Atlantis-Pak company was founded in 1993, when meat plants in Russia still produced sausage using a cellulose film as a shell - with a minimum shelf life of the finished product. The company launched a new production of a plastic shell for sausages in the country. Four years later, the company's specialists developed a casing for sausages, which became the first polyamide sausage casing in the world [4] .
In 1999, the company launched the production of label products.
In 2000-2001, the world's first line of permeable plastic casings for the production of semi-smoked, cooked-smoked and cooked sausages was developed and launched into production; smoked sausages. The advantage of a permeable plastic shell is the ability to smoke products directly in it; while the stuffing is saturated with the smell of smoke [5] . In the same years, the company launched the production of heat-shrinkable vacuum bags for packaging delicatessen meat products and cheeses. In 2005, the company launched the production of spices and ingredients. In 2009, Atlantis-Pak came out on the second place in Russia in sales of texturate [6] ..
In 2011, the first plastic easily removable sausage casing AyPil (iPeel) was launched on the market. The shell is used to shape the sausages, and then removed. Sausages without a shell are subject to vacuum packaging [7] .
