Halhar - Vainakh folk dance of Chechens and Ingush.
Halhar is also known by the name Lezghinka, due to its similarity with other dances of the Caucasus , but also differs noticeably from them in its pace and sharp movements, which are characteristic of the Vainakh "Halhar" .
History
Vainakh dance “Halhar” was formed on the territory of modern Chechnya and Ingushetia .
Dance Description
Traditionally, the Halhar dance is performed by the Vainakhs in the national Vainakh costume “Chokka” ( wai. “Chokkha” ) and accompanied by dance music ( wai. “Halhara Yisha” ) Musical dance size - 6/8; the melody is clear and dynamic, the pace is fast, characteristic of Vainakh dance music.
In the pair dance “Halhar” 2 images are used - a man moving in the image of a proud “ eagle ” and a woman repeating the image of a graceful “ swan ”. The man’s dancing movements alternate from a slow and moderate pace to a fast and swift, often replacing fast to a sharp pace. The dance is conducted by a man, accompanying his partner. In the performance of the Halhar dance, the most spectacular and complex movements are the performed dance movements of the man.
The images and drawing of the dance remain unified and unchanged, however, each Caucasian nation has its own style variety of the characteristic movements used in the dance.
