Lode Diltins ( Dutch: Lode Dieltiens ; born September 18, 1926 , Weinegem ) is a Belgian composer, choral conductor and organist. Father of cellist Rul Diltins and flute player Kun Diltins.
He graduated from a theological seminary in Hogstraten , then studied music in Mechelen under the guidance of Flora Peters , Jules van Nuffel and Marinus de Jong . Since 1955 , for many years, organist and choirmaster at St. Peter's Church in Berglard . For 42 years he was the main conductor of the Flemish National Song Festival, the author of many vocal and choral compositions. He taught harmony at the Antwerp Conservatory and at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven . Among his students, in particular, Paul Schollart , Jan van der Rost , Ludo Klasen , Kurt Bikkembergs , Wim Henderiks and other prominent Flemish musicians.
