Club history

Soviet period

The club was created in 1990 under the name "Umid" Jalilabad. In the USSR championships did not participate.

New Story

In 1992, after the declaration of independence and the beginning of the first national championship, the club excelled in the highest league of Azerbaijan, taking 11th place among 26 teams. The club's scorers were Sabir Mutallimov and Khazar Abbasov, who scored 7 goals each.

In the season of 1993 the format of the championship of Azerbaijan was changed. The teams were divided into 2 groups of 10 teams in each group. "Umid" got into group "A", where he finished in last 10 place, and following the results of two groups - 20 place and thus descended into the First League.
