Biography
Born in the village of Kovtuny, Zolotonoshsky district, Cherkasy region of the Ukrainian SSR in a peasant family. Ukrainian. He worked on a collective farm.
In the Red Army since 1941. In the battles of World War II from June 1941. Member of the CPSU since 1944.
After the war he returned to his homeland, worked as a machine operator in the village of Kovtuny.
He died on January 31, 1994.
Description of the exploits
Liberation of Moldova
On June 11 and 13, 1944, gunner of the 823rd artillery regiment ( 301st rifle division , 57th army , 3rd Ukrainian front ) Sergeant Andrei Derevyanko during the Iasi-Chisinau operation on the Dniester bridgehead fortification site near the village of Gura-Bykuluy -Varnitsa of the Tiraspol region of Moldova destroyed the enemy machine gun with the calculation, put down two firing points and broke the forward observation post of the enemy.
On June 20, 1944 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree (No. 64321).
Fights for Mangushevsky bridgehead
On January 14, 1945, the commander of a 76-mm gun of the same regiment of the same division ( 5th shock army , 1st Belorussian front ), senior sergeant Derevyanko, when breaking through the enemy’s defenses on the Magnuszew bridgehead ( Warsaw-Poznan offensive operation ), south of Warsaw , direct crashed the enemy machine gun, gun, mortar, exterminated over ten foot soldiers. On January 15, 1945, under enemy fire, he smashed a cannon across the Pilitsa River, while repelling three counterattacks with direct fire, he destroyed and scattered the Nazis over the platoon. The capture of Berlin
On April 25, 1945, the gun commander (the same compound), Sergeant Derevyanko with the artillery charge entrusted to him during the capture of Berlin in battle on the streets of Nazi Germany, Berlin repelled two enemy counterattacks and incapacitated the enemy armored personnel carrier, two machine guns and over ten soldiers . On April 26, 1945, with a well-aimed fire, the calculation of the guns of senior sergeant Derevyanko hit three Nazis with Faustpatrons and a machine gunner. On the night of April 27, 1945, with two fighters, he burst into a fortified building, destroying an ambush of five enemy soldiers in it. On the morning of April 27, 1945, he knocked out machine gunners from two houses with artillery fire.
May 15, 1946 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree (No. 647), becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.
